Shoulder Pain
This one is personal for me. Whilst for regulatory reasons I can’t claim to be a shoulder specialist, it is an area of the body that I have a special interest in. Shoulder pain has been something I lived with for a long period of time. Thus a lot of the professional development I have done since graduating has been focused on the shoulder.
The shoulder joint is special in the sense that it is a ball and socket joint that is very mobile. This allows humans to do phenomenal things such as push / pull / throw and carry. The trade off is that the joint is prone to injury as one of the most common physiotherapy presentations.
Conditions we routinely treat include
Impingement syndrome
Rotator cuff tears
Frozen shoulder / Adhesive capsulitis
Bursitis
Labral tears / SLAP tears
Shoulder dislocations
Fractures (collarbone/ clavicle, scapula, humerus)
Referred shoulder pain
Shoulder surgery prehab
Post shoulder surgery rehabilitation
